Procedures to ensure the safety of our patients and staff have been established. The patients will not be allowed any food items from sources other than COPAC. If items are received, they will be returned to the vendor or disposed of. Also, any packages without a return address will be destroyed. We would appreciate your cooperation in the following of these safety guidelines.

Confidentiality
With the enactment of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), patients have protected rights of privacy and confidentiality of information as required by law.  COPAC cannot release information confirming or denying the presence, location or condition of a patient without a prior written release. (42CFR-2)

Persons who wish to contact patients at COPAC should ask for the patient voice mail to leave a message between the hours of 4:30 p.m. and 11:00 p.m.  Messages are checked regularly throughout the day.

Personal Items
What to Bring:
Clothing for weather that varies from 20 to 100 degrees depending on season, including athletic clothing (tennis shoes, sandals / flip flops, jogging clothes), alarm clock w/o radio, pillow and pillow cases, twin sheets, blanket, towels, bath cloths, toiletries, laundry detergent, notebook and writing instrument, AA Big Book, Twenty-Four Hours a Day, 12 and 12, and $20 to $60 weekly for spending money. A personal automobile may be used with staff approval.

Laundry Facilities
A washer and dryer are located on the facility for patient use. The patient is expected to launder his/her clothes.

Mail
Friends and relatives are encouraged to write to the patient. Mail should be addressed to the patient at:

Visiting Hours
Families are encouraged to visit patients. Visiting hours are scheduled on a weekly basis with staff approval, from 1:00-5:00 p.m. on Sundays.
